VITAGOAT FOOD PROCESSING SYSTEM (NON-ELECTRICAL)

The VitaGoat is a food processing system that can be used to create value-added products from cereals, grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables, enabling local groups to increase food security, improve health and create micro-businesses and employment. 
Primary foods can be processed into flours, pastes or wet slurries and used “as is” or further cooked with steam, as for soymilk and it’s various derivatives.

Cooked foods can also be used “as is” or pressed in a manual filter press to make juices and energy-dense beverages. The key feature of the VitaGoat is that it can make all of these foods without the need for electricity; grinding is provided through “pedal power” while cooking energy is provided via an innovative and fuel-efficient steam boiler. The full system includes four components: A pedal-operated grinding / blending system, a steam boiler, a pressure-cooking vessel and a filter press. 

The use of steam-injected pressure-cooking is up to 10 times more energy-efficient than traditional open stove cooking. Some foods can also be prepared using only the pedaloperated grinder/blender, and do not require the boiler and pressure-cooker.

The VitaGoat processing capability features economical, high-protein and healthy soya foods, in the form of soymilk and its derivatives such as tofu and yogurt. Other cooked and processed foods such as soups, sauces and purees, can be made from various fruits and vegetables.
An extra food-preserving vessel is in development to allow for long shelf-life. The cycle-grinder alone can process peanut butter, soy and other nut butters, and grind cereals and grains into meals and some flours. Dry roasted soy nuts, soymilk and home-made bread made with Okara (VGFPU) by-product.

SOYCOW FOOD PROCESSING SYSTEM

The SoyCow is a food processing system for social projects or micro-enterprise development. It is designed to provide daily output of soymilk in the range of 200 to 300 liters for one typical work shift. This provides a critical daily serving of protein and other nutrition for up to 1,000 beneficiaries, or enough bulk milk to support a micro-enterprise with several workers. In addition is the complementary output of ‘okara’, a nutritious fiber by-product of the soymilk process, which can be used to supplement various foods, or as animal feed. There are two main configurations of SoyCow. The difference is in the kind of boiler used. TheSoyCow “E” uses an automatic electric boiler with built-in water feed pump. The SoyCow “M” uses a “multi-fuel” boiler which burns wood, coal, gas, or other biomass such as corncobs, coconut shells etc. In both cases, there are three other main components: an electric ‘wet grinder’, a steam-injected pressure cooker and a filter press. A tofu box is also included.

SOYCOW É FOOD PROCESSING SYSTEM

This configuration is intended for applications where there is adequate and reliable electrical power for the 8kW electric boiler and the electric grinder. It also allows for somewhat faster output with less worker intervention. It is also suitable for urban environments such as a commercial or institutional kitchen, and without need for chimney or other fuels. The boiler is US-made and ASME / UL certified. The electric ‘wet grinder’ is made in Taiwan and is CE certified. The cooker and press are made in India with food grade stainless steel. All pressure components include safety relief valves and pressure gauges.

SOYCOW M` FOOD PROCESSING SYSTEM

This configuration uses a multi-fuel boiler with manual water feed pump. It is connected to the Chimney pipes included. The boiler is built with a stainless steel core, which is easy to clean and includes a safety relief valve and pressure gauge. This version is intended for semi-urban or rural installations where electrical supply is lower or unreliable, and where various fuels are available. The only electrical requirement is the usual household type for the electric grinder.
